Why Parkland

The centre of the Parkland region is roughly 300 kms or 3.5 hours North West of Winnipeg, Maniotba.

As you can see from the map to the right, many communities make up the Parkland region. From the City of Dauphin, it is roughly a 30-minute drive to Winnipegosis Ste. Rose du Lac and about 60 minutes to Roblin. The area also contains a large provincial and federal park as well as large and lakes.


Each community does not have public transportation but walking within the community is reasonable. The City of Dauphin has a taxi service that is available within it.

Dressing appropriately for the weather and planning for seasonal activities like winter sports and outdoor summer adventures can help you make the most of the climate in this beautiful part of Canada.


Summers range from 20°C to 30°C (68°F to 86°F), and sometimes even higher during an occasional heatwave. Winters in the Parkland region are long, cold, and snowy. Expect temperatures to range from -20°C to -30°C (-4°F to -22°F) or even lower on occasion. Snowfall is significant, and snow cover can last for several months (typically November through April).
